Dear Brothers and Sisters,
ANiC's 1st Synod has ended. We can now give
hearty and most grateful thanks to our dear Lord for answering our prayers for
it.
A list of the motions passed is attached in the brief
summary report below.
Have a blessed celebration tomorrow of the Resurrection of
our Lord Jesus and of His constant presence with us.

The
final day of synod was surprisingly unpressured, marked by remarkable unity of
Spirit and joyful singing.
Then
a series of motions was discussed and quite quickly approved, most
unanimously. Motions were passed assuring the Queen and the Archbishop of
Canterbury of our prayers and expressing gratitude to Archbishop Venables and
to the spouses and families of our bishops and clergy for their support and
sacrifice.

1. Moved by The Rev David Short Seconded by David Rand THAT this Inaugural Synod of the Anglican Network in
Canada sends its loyal greetings to Her Majesty the Queen and assures her of
our prayers for her long reign and success in all her endeavours as the Queen
of Canada. |

2. Moved by David Rand Seconded by The Rev Andrew Hewlett THAT this Inaugural Synod of the Anglican sends its
greetings to His Grace the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury and assures him of
our continual prayers for the guidance of the Holy Spirit for the
strengthening and renewal of the Anglican Communion as a witness for our Lord
Jesus Christ to the glory of Almighty God. |

Masters Seconded by Cheryl Chang THAT this Synod expresses its
profound and deep gratitude to the Most Rev Gregory Venables,
the Presiding Bishop of the Anglican Province of the Southern Cone for
providing on an emergency, temporary and pastoral basis Primatial
oversight to the Anglican Network in Canada and wishes to assure him and the
people committed to his charge of our continued prayers and support in the
advancement of the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. |

Masters THAT this Synod expresses its
appreciation and gratitude to the spouses and families of the bishops and
clergy of the Anglican Network in Canada Church for the love and personal
sacrifice that they have made in this time of new beginnings with all of its
joys and struggles. |

Interim Constitution of the Synod of the Anglican Network in Canada Church be
adopted to be in effect until the conclusion of the second meeting of this
Synod |

service in use by every minister of the Anglican Network in Canada Church at
the date of this resolution shall be authorized for continued use until such
time as further order may be taken; and That the following forms of service shall be
authorized for use in the Anglican Network in a) the forms of service contained in The
Book of Common Prayer (1662) and
The Book of Common Prayer authorized by the Anglican Church of Canada
in 1962; b)
the forms of service contained in The
Book of Alternative Services of the Anglican Church of Canada; |

c) the forms of service commonly
known as Common Worship as used in
the Church of d) the alternative and modern
language services authorized by the Anglican Church of Kenya; and e) such other forms of service as may be
authorized by the Moderator. |

that the Moderator, Rt. Rev. Donald Harvey, and Suffragan
bishop, Rt. Rev. Malcolm Harding, after consultation with delegates to this
Synod, nominate up to 3 ANiC Clergy members for
Archbishop Gregory Venables to consider for
appointment as suffragan bishops prior to the next
Synod in 2009 with responsibilities and duties to be assigned by the
Moderator. |
